An associate degree requires
completion of at least 60 semester credit hours (two years of
full-time enrollment). COTC offers three types of associate
degrees:
-
Associate of Arts and Associate of Science:
Complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and
transfer to any public four-year university in Ohio.
-
Associate of Applied Business and Associate of Applied
Science: Prepare students for immediate employment
after graduation with a specific career focus, and in many
cases, can also transfer to a four-year university.
-
Associate of Technical Studies: A
customized degree designed by the student with guidance and
approval by COTC.
Some associate degrees also allow students to choose a major. A
major is an area of specialization within an
associate degree.
