Overview

Home health aides provide in-home care to people with disabilities, chronic illness or cognitive impairment. Help is often provided to older adults in need of assistance. With this certificate you can begin working as a home healthcare provider right away. You will also be prepared to continue your education with COTC’s Associate of Applied Science in Health Services Technology.

Many seniors prefer to remain in their own homes as long as possible; having the assistance of home health aides supports this option. According to the Department of Labor, hundreds of thousands of home healthcare workers will be needed in the next decade.

By completing this course, you:

  • expand your potential job opportunities in the healthcare industry
  • gain basic skills in safety, medication practices and wellness strategies for patients with different levels of abilities
  • build a strong foundation for academic progression in healthcare
