Overview

The accounting technology associate degree prepares you for employment in financial institutions, accounting firms, government agencies and in a wide variety of businesses and industries. According to the Department of Labor, over 100,000 accountants will be needed in the next decade to meet demands for these skills.

Graduates of this program are ready to begin working in accounting right away. You will also be prepared to continue your education if you choose to pursue a bachelor’s degree.

By completing this degree, you:

  • become proficient in computerized accounting and spreadsheet software
  • learn about auditing, taxation, fraud examination, and forensic accounting
  • gain skills in finance and cost management

Student who enroll full time will complete the accounting technology associate degree in two years.

You can complete the accounting technology associate degree almost entirely online. You may choose to take all face-to-face classes or a combination of online and face-to-face classes.

COTC awards more than $1 million in scholarships to students each year.

Every student is encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered for grants, scholarships and loans. Students who complete the FAFSA are automatically considered for some scholarships. Other scholarships require an application.
