Overview

COTC’s Associate of Arts in Education is a cost-effective way to begin a career in teaching. Beyond saving money on the front end, the program is ideal for those currently working in childcare — infant, toddler and preschool teachers, school aides, teaching assistants, etc. — who want to further their professional opportunities and migrate to K-12 education.

You will take courses on several interdisciplinary topics, including:

  • arts and humanities
  • social and behavioral sciences
  • science and mathematics
  • child development

After completing your degree, you will have a guaranteed transfer path to Ohio’s public universities and some private institutions. Keep scrolling to see your transfer options.

Course Share Information

The Associate of Arts in Philosophy plan of study requires you complete a course at another institution (course share) in order to complete the program. The Higher Education Council of Columbus (HECC) has set up a system of cross-registration for regularly enrolled, full-time undergraduate students at participating colleges and universities in and around Franklin County. Cross-registration allows you to register at one of the other HECC member institutions on a space-available basis for certain credit courses not available at COTC.
