A bachelor’s degree requires completion of at
least 120 credit hours. COTC offers one
bachelor’s degree.

Bachelor of Applied Science: Prepares students
for employment or advancement in a specific career with more
in-depth knowledge and practical application of skills.
An associate degree requires
completion of at least 60 semester credit hours. COTC offers
three types of associate degrees:

Associate of Arts and Associate of Science:
Complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and
transfer to any public four-year university in Ohio.

Associate of Applied Business and Associate of Applied
Science: Prepare students for immediate employment
after graduation with a specific career focus, and in many
cases, can also transfer to a four-year university.

Associate of Technical Studies: A
customized degree designed by the student with guidance and
approval by COTC.
Some associate degrees also allow students to choose a major. A
major is an area of specialization within an
associate degree.
COTC also offers two certificate options for students.

Short-Term Certificate: An award for the
completion of less than 30 semester credit hours for a specific
career.

One-Year Certificate: An award for the
completion of 30 semester credit hours or more for a specific
career.
