Braden Patchett
From Waiter to Engineer in Two Years, Internship Yields Big Results for COTC Alumnu
Before enrolling at COTC, Braden Patchett already had a long work history in the restaurant business. But for the St. Louisville resident, all those years amounted to only one thing—employment that was just a “J.O.B.” leaving him “Just Over Broke.” At least, that’s how Patchett unashamedly describes his less-than-ideal experiences in the unskilled workforce. Feeling trapped in lower-paying service jobs with no path toward advancement, Patchett was getting by, but not thriving, he admits. Moreover, he was haunted.

Workshops
Student Lingo Online Workshops
The “job” of being a good college student
requires many skills. Besides the necessity for good
reading, writing and calculating abilities, the successful
student needs to learn how to take good notes (lecture and
texts), manage his/her time, appropriately “read” a textbook,
prepare for and take college-level exams, and much more.
A series of on-demand study skills workshops covering some of these areas are available 24/7 via this link:
Parking and Permits
COTC campuses offer all students free parking. Student and visitor parking is available in any white-lined space on all COTC campuses.
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant is free assistance funded by the federal government. Recipients must be enrolled in an undergraduate program leading to a certificate, associate’s or bachelor degree and meet all other required eligibility criteria.
