Public Safety Advisory Committee
Bylaws
Purpose
The purpose of the Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and The Ohio State University at Newark Public Safety Advisory Committee is to advise the staff sergeant regarding best safety practices, services, and policies, staffing, operations, policing strategies, and OSHA requirements, to achieve and maintain a safe, healthful workplace.
COTC to partner with Heath-Newark-Licking County Port Authority and Neurxstem to offer students unique cleanroom lab experience
Advanced manufacturing environments to produce products such as semiconductor integrated circuits (‘chips’), ultrathin wafer films, microsensors, etc., require extremely clean environments to avoid contamination.
Program Outcomes
Upon completion of the electrocardiograph technician program, the graduate will be able to:
- Demonstrate knowledge of human body structure, function and pathology.
- Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac electrophysiology.
- Demonstrate completion of appropriate diagnostic studies including but not limited to EKG, ECG, telemetry.
- Correctly identify basic rhythms, lethal rhythms and artifacts.

Andrew Guanciale
Vice Chair
Guanciale is a Realtor with the Guanciale Group of Coldwell Banker Reality in Licking County. A native of Newark, Guanciale graduated from Newark Catholic High School and received a bachelor’s degree in business finance from Capital University. He is a third-generation real estate agent and has been with Coldwell Banker for more than 20 years.
Spring 2023 Commencement
COTC President John M. Berry, PhD, conferred 158 associate degrees and 117 certificates to 235 graduates at the college’s spring commencement ceremony held on May 5, 2023.

Ohio Consortium for Transfer Pathways to the Liberal Arts
Students who complete an Associate of Arts or an Associate of Science at a two-year college at COTC in the areas of biology, English and psychology can seamlessly transfer their credits to a four-year university in the consortium to continue their education and earn a bachelor’s degree.
