COTC announces 50th Anniversary Ice Cream Flavor

COTC and Velvet® Ice Cream Partner

Three scoops of berry rumble ice cream with berries on top in a glass cup

Central Ohio Technical College and Velvet® Ice Cream are collaborating on a delightfully sweet venture to celebrate the college’s upcoming 50th anniversary.

In spring 2021, the college received almost 1,000 votes in a public campaign to select a limited-release new Velvet Ice Cream flavor that will be produced exclusively for COTC’s 50th anniversary. The winner – Berry Rumble – a fruity blend of strawberry, blueberry & blackberry ice cream will be available at all COTC 50th anniversary events, autumn semester welcome week activities and for purchase at Velvet’s Ye Olde Mill in Utica.

Reina Arey

Nursing Technology

Reina Arey

From a young age, Reina Arey wanted to be a nurse. Back then, she was in awe of the nurses who cared for her younger siblings in the NICU. Today, it is the nurses braving the COVID-19 pandemic who continue to inspire her as she pursues a nursing degree at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC).

“Nurses have a desire to help people. When someone is hurt, nurses can nurture them back to a healthy state,” she said as she explained her appreciation for the profession.
