COTC offers multiple pathways to career success

Associate Degree: An award that requires completion of at least 60 semester credit hours. COTC offers three types of associate degrees:

  • Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree and transfer to any public four-year university in Ohio.
  • Associate of Applied Business and Associate of Applied Science degrees have a specific career focus and prepare students for immediate employment upon graduation.
  • Associate of Technical Studies degrees are a customized degree designed by COTC and the student with a clearly identifiable career objective. 

Major: An area of specialization within an applied associate degree that includes at least 12 semester credit hours.

One-Year Certificate: An award for the completion of at least 30 semester credit hours for a specific career.

Short-Term Certificate: An award for the completion of less than 30 semester credit hours for a specific career.
