COTC Expands Career-Ready Programs at Pataskala Campus
Healthcare and IT Options Grow
Earn a degree or certificate in some of Ohio’s fastest-growing fields and get started in a fulfilling career you’ll love. Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) has expanded career-ready programs in healthcare, IT and digital media that can be completed in full at its Pataskala campus, located at 8660 E. Broad Street. The campus underwent a $4.2 million renovation last year, bringing a new nursing and allied health skills lab, science and computer labs, classroom and academic support spaces, and student collaboration spaces to the completely renovated facility.
The following programs are available for autumn semester 2022:
Healthcare Careers Offered at COTC Pataskala
State Tested
Nurse Aide – complete in one semester
Phlebotomy Certificate –
complete in two semesters
Practical Nursing
Certificate – The practical nursing certificate program can
be completed in one year (three semesters). Graduates of the
program are prepared to take the National Council Licensure
Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN) to become a licensed
practical nurse (LPN).
Paramedic to
Associate Degree Nursing – This four-semester transition
degree will allow certified paramedics to complete the education
they need to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination
for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). COTC graduates of the paramedic
to ADN program are prepared to function in beginning staff-level
RN positions in a variety of healthcare facilities and are also
prepared to continue their education if they choose to pursue a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
LPN to
Associate Degree Nursing – available spring semester;
three-semester transition program
Technology Careers Offered at COTC Pataskala
Information Technology
Associate Degree – complete in four semesters
Digital Media
Design Technology Certificate – two semesters
Growing Demand
Employment in healthcare occupations is projected to grow 16% from 2020 to 2030, adding more jobs than any other occupational group, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Employment in computer and information technologies, web development and digital design are projected to grow 13%.
