Statement of Purpose
The goal of the English and Communications Department is to provide and assess quality learning opportunities in which students actively work to develop their skills in reading, writing, researching, speaking, listening, and thinking. Culinary Science Technology is being discontinued, and no new applicants are being accepted effective immediately.
The Culinary Science Technology program is designed to provide skills and experiences essential for those who are interested in culinary careers including work in research and development.
Students can begin in the Culinary Science Technology program by completing certificates in three different areas.

Nursing Technology Certificate Plan – State Tested Nurses Aide
2016-2017 Central Ohio Technical College
Basic health care workers are needed in many areas within the health care continuum of wellness, acute care, and restorative care. COTC prepares the student with the communication, basic personal care and safety skills required to become a STNA. The course also provides a home health module, assisting the student to gain theory in home health care. This certificate allows the student to take the state test for nurse aides. To become eligible to take the state testing examination, the student must successfully complete the following course at COTC:
