COTC, Ohio State Newark Staff Member Receives Service Award
Faith Phillips is passionate about helping students find a way to access a college education. As the director of student financial services at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and The Ohio State University at Newark, she has made it possible for countless students to overcome financial barriers to degree completion. Recently Phillips was presented the Alex Murdoch Service Award by her peers in the Ohio Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (OASFAA) for putting her “whole heart and soul into [her] community and our association.”
COTC Recognizes Faculty with Teaching Excellence Awards
Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) honored Susan Cooperider, EdD, RN, and Joseph McGregor with the Teaching Excellence Award for the 2020-21 academic year.

Jacob Ward
Digital Media Design Technology
Thirteen years after starting a degree at a different college, Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) student Jacob Ward is pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Digital Media Design Technology to redefine his career.
“I like the idea of creating and bringing something to life for someone,” he said. “I’d love to work with a sports team to help develop their website or help design their merchandise.”
Ward began working on his degree in spring 2021 with the full support of his wife and three kids.
Ice Skating
This event is open to all students, faculty and staff. With each school ID presented the holder will be granted admittance for themselves and one guest, any additional guests will be required to pay their own admittance fee. Participants will receive skate rental and up to 3 hours of ice skating time.
