Central Ohio Technical College is shaped and sustained by alumni volunteers. If you are interested in continuing your involvement with the college, there are many ways you can broaden and deepen your connection with us and our alumni community.
Alumni and Student Service Day
The Central Ohio Technical College Advancement Office with the South Newark Civic Association is sponsoring a service day for COTC alumni and COTC students to clean up areas in south Newark. COTC faculty and staff are also welcome to volunteer.
Trash bags and plastic gloves will be provided by the city of Newark. All volunteers will receive FREE t-shirts.
Staging will take place at St. John’s United Church of Christ at 285 W. National Drive, Newark. The church will provide a box lunch for all volunteers. Cleanup will proceed rain or shine unless the weather conditions are deemed unsafe.

Independence Day Alumni Celebration
The Annual Independence Day Concert & Fireworks, jointly
sponsored by COTC, Ohio State Newark and the Gilbert Reese Family
Foundation, has been a long-standing free gift to the community.
Every year the campus hosts this family-friendly event during
which the Annual Alumni Celebration is held. We need
approximately 40 volunteers to ensure that this fun-filled
evening goes smoothly.
Our last event was hugely successful with almost 500 alumni and their families in attendance. All volunteers that register to work a 2-hour block of time will receive a free t-shirt and complimentary admission to the event. Alumni Council
The Alumni Council is a group of volunteers who serve as an advisory committee to the Director of Advancement. This group helps direct the programming for the Alumni Program. COTC Commencement
