Student ID
All COTC students are encouraged to get their free student ID. A COTC student ID is used for many things:
- Identify yourself as a COTC student when meeting and communicating with various departments on campus, including the Office of Student Financial Services
- Rent or purchase books in the bookstore
- Use library resources
How to Get a Student ID
COTC student ID cards are issued by The Ohio State University BuckID system and are available locally at the COTC Department of Public Safety on the Newark campus.
- Visit public safety in Warner 105, or you can have your photo taken at the extended campuses (Coshocton, Knox or Pataskala) and pick up your ID a few days later.
- You must show a photo ID to receive your COTC student ID.
- New students must be registered for classes before getting a COTC student ID.
Adding Funds to your Student ID
Money can be loaded onto a student ID and be used to purchase food and drinks in the Table of Contents cafeteria and Bean Counter coffee shop on the Newark campus. Some campus vending will also accept your student ID as payment. Additionally, students are charged for printing services on campus which can be paid via your student ID.
To load money onto your student ID, you can make a deposit online at BuckID.osu.edu.
Or, you can mail a check to BuckID at 3040 Ohio Union, 1739 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43210. Include your nine-digit student ID number in the memo line.
Replacement Student ID
A replacement student ID costs $20.00 and may be purchased online. Please keep your COTC student ID in a safe place.
